Laclede’s Landing
The old and the new come together on Laclede’s Landing, as 19th century architecture meets 21st century dining and entertainment. The Landing, as the locals call it, is a collection of historic 19th century riverfront warehouses that have been converted into nightclubs and restaurants.
Originally surveyed by Pierre Laclede in 1763, Laclede’s Landing was once a hub for manufacturing, warehousing, and shipping on the Mississippi riverfront. It is the oldest district and only riverfront dining destination attached to the Gateway Arch grounds. Restaurants and entertainment venues line the cobblestone streets along with a wax museum, the newly developed Purina Dog Park and Lumiere Place Casino. The Great Rivers Greenway Riverfront Trail provides miles of biking trails all the way to the confluence of the Missouri and Mississippi Rivers . The neighborhood also features the annual Big Muddy Blues Festival on Labor Day Weekend.
Laclede’s Landing is also a great place to start or wind down a Downtown St. Louis adventure. A complimentary shuttle takes visitors to Busch Stadium and Scottrade Center on game nights, while the Gateway Arch, Riverboat cruises and scenic helicopter rides are just a short walk south through the re-imagined National Park grounds.
